THE CURRANT SHED

The Currant Shed is one of McLaren Vale's most awarded and renowned restaurants, and is situated on the Shottesbrooke Estate under the one ownership as a sister brand.

A picturesque 5-minute walk will take guests of Shottesbrooke's Cellar Door to lunch at the Currant Shed, boasting expansive views of the vineyards in one direction, and the restaurant's signature lime grove in the other.

The Currant Shed has a long and proud history, standing tall whilst weathering over a century of different guises.

The original homestead - also one of the earliest built in the area - had many sheds and cellars and its residents made their living from mixed farming enterprises including onions, potatoes, and, of course, currants.

McLAREN VALE GETAWAYS

There are two B&B houses on the Shottesbrooke estate available to book via another sister business, McLaren Vale Getaways.

Both of these venues - Clements House and Hillside House - are also located within a short walking distance from both Shottesbrooke Cellar Door and The Currant Shed restaurant.

‘Clements House’ is one of the original homesteads in McLaren Flat. With a charming, rustic interior and located amongst sprawling vineyards, it sits right next door to The Currant Shed.

Hillside House’ is a recently renovated, modern and perched privately atop a gentle hill that oversees the entire property, with stunning views across the vineyards to the magnificent Mt Lofty Ranges.

The estate is also home to the Picker's Hut, available for private hire with capacity for up to 20 people.

Set away from Cellar Door, and nestled amongst the vines alongside the creek that runs through the property, the Picker's Hut is a quaint little rustic stone structure with a lawned area out the front - just the spot to enjoy a relaxing picnic and bottle of Shottesbrooke wine whilst taking in the beauty of the vineyards and surrounding hills.

Guests can make use of the BBQ facilities, and even pre-order local produce and salads hand-prepared by the chefs at the Currant Shed. With the Cellar Door also close by, there's no need to bring a thing!
