Shottesbrooke Merletté Rosé 2008

A chilled rosé on a summers day is a great refresher, by the glass or with a meal. We have produced a rosé from 100% Merlot, picked when the primary fruit flavour shows raspberry and black cherry characters.
The juice is removed from the skins after 24 hours and before the on set of fermentation. This ensures sufficient flavour and colour but without the tannin found in full bodied dry reds. The juice is then fermented at cool temperatures as you would with a dry white wine.

Colour: Vibrant garnet red, promising bright fruit.

Nose: Fresh fruit with hints of raspberry and cherry

Palate: Light vibrant cherry and raspberry with crisp acid and long
fruit flavour. A burst of freshness with no lingering sweetness.

Great as a palate cleanser or ideal for alfresco dining and picnics. Try
with Asian cuisine. Screw cap for convenience and to
prevent cork taint.
