Shottesbrooke | Vineyards

Great wines can only be made from great grapes.

At Shottesbrooke we carefully nurture vines to produce the grapes required to make quality wines. Each phase of the annual growing cycle is analysed using the most up-to-date techniques to assess vine health and balance. That information is then used to implement management strategies that ensure production of the highest quality grapes, whilst minimising environmental impact.

Shottesbrooke vineyards are composed of a wide range of terroirs; sands through to black cracking clay. Such is the variation in mesoclimate and soil type, from one patch of grapes to the next, that we assess water requirements for each individual patch of grapes, only applying water as required. Our soil is so important to us that in recent years we introduced lighter, more efficient machinery to reduce soil compaction.
